Minnesota Vikings Challenge Grant

The Minnesota Vikings challenge other Minneapolis business leaders and community members to match our investment in the Elliot Park Neighborhood.

In 2008, the Vikings committed $15,000 to Elliot Park Neighborhood, Inc. to support the revitalization efforts in Elliot Park and Downtown East. This year the team will match your donation dollars up to a second $15,000. Please consider making some level of investment in this program. All contributions received by December 1, 2009 will be included in this challenge. For more information, please contact: Lynn Regnier, Elliot Park Neighborhood, Inc., 612.335.5846 ext. 18; or Lester Bagley, The Minnesota Vikings, 952.918.8350. Thank you. (You can donate online by clicking on the “Support the Neighborhood” message on the left side of this page).

A message from The Minnesota Vikings

As neighbors of Elliot Park, the Minnesota Vikings are excited to partner with Elliot Park Neighborhood, Inc. (EPNI) in their continued efforts to revitalize this area of downtown Minneapolis. The Vikings have been, and will continue to be, very supportive of EPNI’s leadership. We have great interest in seeing the Elliot Park neighborhood thrive.

EPNI’s initiatives match up well with the Vikings’ vision for the Downtown East area of Minneapolis and our intent to be part of a broader economic development effort that will create jobs and tax base in this area. We are currently working with the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission on a proposed public-private partnership for a new multi-use facility to replace the Metrodome. Our goal is to not only build the best stadium at the lowest cost, but to contribute to the effort to revitalize and rebuild the area around the stadium. To that end, we are challenging other Minneapolis business and community leaders to invest in EPNI’s energy and vision for the future. Please join us in making a financial contribution to EPNI to support their efforts to return the area to its previous vibrant state.

We applaud EPNI’s commitment to community, and we are proud to be associated with this organization. The Vikings have long been committed to enhancing the team’s community outreach programs and building relationships with our important partners and neighbors. Again, please join us in making something exciting happen in the Elliot Park Neighborhood by investing in EPNI.

Sincerely,

Zygi Wilf, Owner/Chairman,  Minnesota Vikings
